STRUGA & VEVCANI
Struga is located on the northern side of the Ohrid Lake, where river Crni Drim flows out of the lake. Struga is a town of poetry, and hosts the world's poetry elite at the Festival "The Struga Poetry Nights".
There are Neolithic remains, as well as Roman monuments in the town. A special attention appears from the XIX Century architecture.
Only a few kilometres from Struga are location of monastery of Holy Mother of Kalista, and the cave church from XIV Century. Struga is located at the foothill of mountains rich with mountain springs and one of the most attractive of those springs is at the village of Vevcani.

The sightseeing includes walk through the narrow streets of Struga, visiting the Bridge of Poetry, and introducing the work of Miladinovci brothers (by the poem of Konstantin Miladinov "Sorrow for South" - one of the best red wines of Macedonia got its name).
The tour continues in the village of Kalista, visiting the cave church and the monastery of the Holly Mother of Kalista. There is a possibility of buying the famous monastery cheese and grapes brandy (rakija).
Departure for the village of Vevcani, visiting the Vevcani springs and lunch at the national restaurant. National specialties and home-made wines can be consumed.
Vevcani is famous about the Vevcani carnival. The Vevcani Carnival, which claims a 14 century long legacy, is held every year from 13 to 14 January.
